Through a media communique, KFOR has announced that the exercise focused on standardising the mission's planning and execution procedures, testing flight and communications.
The exercise began from Slatine Military Airport, continuing with camp “Bandsteel”, Prizren, Peja, Slatina Airport and Pristina, and finished at KFOR General Staff at Camp “Kosovo Film”.
“The exercise made sure that KFOR remains a powerful military force, ready to act as a credible pre-emptor to any threat and to maintain its capacity to carry out emergency medical evacuation flights whenever necessary”, it is said in communiqué.
Its mission, led by NATO, is multinational contingents with 27 NATO member states and partner states.
This international dimension provides built capacity and competencies. Continued training and exercise are required to ensure that all contingents operate standardisedly, ensuring KFOR's ability to react in line with UN Resolution 1244 and quickly and efficiently from air and land to any challenge to the safe and secure environment and freedom of movement”, the KFOR communiqué is said to be further.
