His family through a media communique has appreciated that justice organs over a year have failed to clear the case.
On a anniversary of the murder of Kosovo Hero, Qerim Kelmendi, we are deeply indignant at the way the justice institutions have dealt with this serious murder, including Page Police and Investigators, the Constitutional Prosecutor in Pec and the Special Prosecutor of Kosovo”, it is said in a statement, the Klan Kosova broadcasts.
“The method of executing the Qenim, by Pec's Founding Prosecutor, was originally described as a very serious, very professional and very mysterious murder. The Kosovo Hero killing case, Qerim Kelmendi, has later passed to Kosovo Special Prosecutor in Pristina.
Despite the fact that the Kosovo Special Prosecutor has been handling the case for months now, there is no concrete movement to address the perpetrators' identification and bringing them to justice”.
“We, representatives of the Kemim Kelmendi family, have twice met the prosecutor of the case under the Special Prosecutor of Kosovo, Mr. Hakki Gecaj, as well as during this one-year period, has been addressed with two official requests in order to understand the extent of the investigation of”.
From the family, they say they have expressed their dissatisfaction with the delays in the whitelight, where they point out that they have even written letters to the case prosecutor Haki Gecaj.
After this letter we have been invited to a meeting by the prosecutor. Gecaj, where, unfortunately, on February 22, 2021, at our last meeting we have announced that there is not yet a decision to start the investigation. Seeing this lack of seriousness in investigating this case, we also appeal to the chief state prosecutor, Mr. Alexander Lumez, to take all legal action within his jurisdictions, to whitewash this murder”.
Any failure to whiteen the murder of Qerim Kelmendi is a failure of the justice institutions to offer the victim justice as well as their families. As it is widely known, Kosovo Hero, the Kelmend, was one of the first soldiers of the Kosovo Liberation Army and is the first wounded soldier of this army. The extraction of this macabre murder should be the starting point for the dawning of the killings of all Kosovo Liberation Army soldiers, who saved nothing for their homeland”.
