Great Britain Prime Minister Boris Johnson presented today a plan that would end the stalemate in England, offering a cautious “approach” so that all restrictive measures that have shaken the economy are not returned, Reuters reports. Johnson is under pressure to allow more freedom for millions of people who have been locked up in their homes and to offer hope for smaller companies that have felt the consequences of restrictive measures, Reuters estimates.
Among the measures to be proposed is the opening of schools starting on March 8th in four phases, but in order for them not to begin work before June 21st.
“The threat is still there, but we can take steps because of the success of our health care, which has vaccinated more than 17.5 million people throughout Great Britain”, Johnson said.
And for Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland, which are part of Great Britain, it is up to local authorities to determine how and when to ease restrictive measures.
“Britianics that can work from home, wherever possible, will stay in their homes until the government determines the social distance rules and use of masks at work,” added Johnson.
