Japan Hit by a Powerful Earthquake

Japan's Weather Agency reported that a 7.1-degree Richter earthquake has registered in the northeastern part of the country on Saturday evening, according to local time. The powerful wake that took place at about 23 p.m. was also felt in the capital city of Tokyo, reports Japan's news agency Kyodo.
The depth of the quake was reportedly 60 miles [60 km] below the surface. The most deep earthquakes of the epither usually cause less material damage.
The agency wrote that there may be sea level changes along the Japanese coast, but no material damage is expected.
The Weather Agency said there is no danger of tsunami after the powerful quake, while the government immediately founded the task force to deal with the situation created after the earthquake.
By contrast, Japan extends to the so - called “fire ring”, which is an area of high seismic activity around the Pacific Ocean, and is often hit by earthquakes.
In March 2011, Japan was hit by a very powerful 9.1 - degree earthquake. Some 15,900 had died and over 2,500 had disappeared.
