The Etna volcano in Italy has exploded again. Local media suggest that the explosion has been strong and a cloud of volcanic ash has covered a large area that is spreading south.
The volcanic eruption was recorded by the National Institute of Geophysics and Volcanology at 4:10 local time.
Because ashes have covered a large part of the country, Catania Airport has suspended work and will not have any flights until a second order.
Volcanus ash is up to a mile [1 km] high, and there is fear that aircraft can be lost.
The Etna volcano has been on surveillance for days, and fortunately so far it has not caused damage, as residents of surrounding areas have been evacuated. The Etna volcano is one of the most active in the world and explodes several times.
