Former President Donald Trump's legal team named the charge for “inciting the uprising”, a monstrous lie, as he presented evidence that dropped charges against him before the US Senate.
Lawyer Michael Van Der Ween called the process “impeechment” initiated against Trump as a politically motivated movement by the Democrats. Most Republicans have so far declared they will vote against the former president's sentence, even though 17 votes are enough.
The team representing the former president took only four hours to protect, trying to accelerate the end of the trial as much as possible.
But for the Democrats more than four hours of footage, inside and outside the Capitol Hill building are more than enough to prove the charges against the former American president, initiated by his speech on the same day.
Trump's lawyer said that the Senate should also take based on the first messages of Trump on Twitter that day, in which it wrote: “Ruan calm” and “not violence because we are the rule party and law”.
