Ilir Ibrahim New Voter Does Not Remember Ibrahim Rugova

The LDK in the February 14th elections has received 13.08 per cent, known as the worst result in the history of this party.

Ibrahimi on the Rubik show in Klan Kosova said the LDK for six months has been silent by not making attempts to explain developments that took place in Kosovo concerning the collapse of Kurti Government and relations with the United States of America, and this cost the Democratic League in the election outcome.

I agree that lack of communication has caused great damage to LDK. The lack of active communication is the greatest damage done to the LDK, because the LDK has taken appropriate steps as always in the relationship with the United States, and has expected people to understand it, without making any effort to explain it. We're in a new situation. While there has been a political party that has repeatedly attacked”.

Every step the LDK has taken has attacked and the LDK has remained silent for six months. We didn't know why the government collapsed, what happened to relations with the United States of America. For just two weeks with half a voice trying to explain, but it hasn't been enough, and that has affected the election outcome. The results have also been accepted by LDK leaders, taking responsibility even by offering their resignations”.

He stressed that the LDK needs change, but that this change is not so drastic.

If the LDK fails to adapt to the new reality, it will be a problem to recover. But even this change, I'm not a follower of radical changes. Going from one extreme to the other extreme, because these can especially harm a political subject. I'm a follower of transitional changes. So the LDK knows it needs a change. But this change should not come from a Isa Mustaf to a new generation, which resembles the Vetevendosje Movement but has completely different electorates. This could be dangerous for my opinion about LDK”.

According to him, the Democratic League of Kosovo has not understood the message of its electorate.

Ilir Ibrahimi said the LDK has been constantly silent, not showing the reasons for the collapse of the Kurti government in the time of the pandemic.

That's the electorate he's got. It cannot be said that he cannot return. The electorates move. The LDK did not understand the electorate's message. They kept quiet. The LDK itself acknowledges that they don't have a proper communication mechanism, and this has taken revenge on”.

The whole target in these six or seven months has been LDK. You've been accused of bringing Government to the pandemic. The government doesn't fall into the pandemic. But they kept silent and didn't explain why? How did it fall? You've kept quiet”

Ibrahimi added that young voters in Kosovo do not remember LDK founder and Kosovo President Ibrahim Rugova.

“You thought that voters themselves would understand that in the 1990s, until the early 2000s, when Rugova went to the United States and had meetings. And then he brought these in and brought them”.

You don't have that voter anymore. That new voter does not remember Ibrahim Rugova. There must be another communication with him. I supported transitional change”.

He said, among other things, that the Assembly, where the new chairman of the Democratic League of Kosovo will have to be held as soon as possible.

Because according to him, the trend of some LDK members is being observed, for opportunism.

The location must be held as soon as possible. Even faster than 60 days, because we have now seen more that LDK members in television studios that are exploiting the moment for opportunism. This moment is dangerous”

This is no time to tell who was right and who wasn't right. Those who were wrong have now claimed responsibility and have resigned. The Assembly is needed as soon as I choose a new leadership and the LDK must speak in a voice, not with 100 voices”.
