South Korea's capital, Seoul, will test dogs and cats for COVID-19 in cases where their owners result positive. Even pets will be tested when they are asmptomatic.
Authorities said a group of specialised veterinarians will visit the homes of infected patients to test their animals.
Any positive dogs or cats will be quarantined in 14 days and will receive adequate treatment according to protocols in force.
South Korea reported its first case of an animal infection with Avid-19, when a cat came up positive for the virus on January 21st, according to the Country Disease Control and Prevention Agency (KDCA.)
