The candidate of the Democratic League of Kosovo (LDK) for prime minister, Avdullah Hoti, said Friday in Suhareka that economic development and the creation of new jobs will be a priority of the next government.
“Youth will be supported by providing quality education in educational profiles on the basis of labour market needs. There will be schemes for youth employment support, subvention of new entrepreneurs, transition facilities for employment schools, opportunities for practical work by closely cooperating with companies, promotion of volunteer work, continued training for integration in the labour market, student housing assistance, youth innovation centres, etc.”, Hoti said.
Prime Minister Hoti said it will be worked on creating conditions for sustainable and dignified employment, promoting free, limited state competitiveness in the economy, primarily as facilitator and regulatory of economic development, based on national development priorities, with particular care to the environment, to preserve it for future generations.
He added that Kosovo needs to prepare a clear long-term strategic development orientation, where development priorities and frameworks of economic, fiscal and budgetary policies and public debt exceed a government mandate.
The prime minister has guaranteed Suhareka's valued farmers continued state support. Taking into account the potential the agricultural sector has for increasing local production and employment throughout the production chain, processing and servant, The LDK will be strongly engaged in supporting the agricultural sector, starting with primary productivity, preservation, processing and marketing as final products”, Hoti has said.
He said they would provide support for agriculture in the programme for sustainable agricultural development and strategy for the protection of local products. Support will be for all phases of agricultural production, with focus on sectors where the country has comparable advantages. Given the fact that Kosovo has an orientation towards EU integration, the government's orientation will be that agriculture development policies are linked to the EU Common Agricultural Policy”, Prime Minister Hoti said in the end.
