Hoti: The amount of initial projects totals $1 billion with maturity of 25 years

The acting prime minister of the Republic of Kosovo, Mr. Avdullah Hoti, has been working a morning with representatives of economic and business ops, who reported extensively about the benefits of the investment promotion agreement.

It is an extraordinary opportunity to finance Kosovo's economic development in the years to come. A new window is opening where sectors are not restricted. Of course, the public sector's share has been mainly in infrastructure, energy, environment, network broadband and such things, but in the private sector, only the sky is the restriction, what to think, only to have business and economic meaning, the project that finances Hoti said.

It specified the importance of direct financing in the form of loans the government, public institutions, private ones and companies different from American financial institutions. The second option is investment in equity, and the third instrument is guaranteeing investments. An instrument that is similar to the Kosovar fund for credit guarantees.

The total amount for these initial projects amounts to $1 billion with maturity of 25 years. I believe that this is the best opportunity Kosovo has had since 99 here to open an extraordinary window of long-term development, Hoti stressed.

Prime Minister Hoti said the financial market in Kosovo is not at the level it should be, to absorb all these financial instruments. He warned meetings under the National Council for Economics and Investments to take the inputs together with international experts and the Central Bank to establish the necessary legal framework in order to function these financial instruments.
