Haradinaj: Alliance to assume presidential post in these elections

The candidate for MP from the AAK ranks, Daut Haradinaj, has said that since the post-war, a party has failed to get the parliamentary majority, as it has expressed its conviction that Ramush Haradinaj will be Kosovo's next president. “This election is of particular importance because it is racing for three [...]

“This election is of particular importance because it is competing for the three main positions of state. Never has a political party after the war won sufficient numbers to elect the president. So, it takes a compromise in the Kosovo Parliament to create a majority 80+1, then this majority is well known and requires parliamentary majority for Government as well and I don't believe there will be a party that will create a parliamentary majority, even for the government and leave it for the president. But other parties also have bids for the president. We are in the race for the president, and I am convinced that the Alliance will take over the presidency in this case”, Haradinaj has said.

He added that these weeks we have worked hard to make it extremely successful on February 14th, until he stressed that, “I am convinced that we will be a surprise to these elections by looking at the ground, and the will and energy we've seen these days make me believe we're going to get very good”

“The time has passed for the envelope presidents and are not the circumstances behind the puppet president, and Ramush Haradinaj is a strong authority and provided evidence that at important times it has been turning around, whether it was the coalition with President Rugova at the time, whether with Thaci, Veselin, and then we have made a joint protest with Vetevendosje and we have made a co-operation, so when it comes to the country we have given evidence that when it comes to Kosovo we are ready at the compromise table<1> Haradinj said.
