According to a Facebook social network post, although they have held a meeting two weeks ago with the incumbent prime minister, Avdullah Hoti, the same one had promised them a meeting these days, which they believe has not yet accomplished.
The Kosovo nurses' union organised three protests during 2020 due to the severe conditions in which nurses are located. He held three meetings with the health minister and 1 meeting with the prime minister about two weeks ago. We are still awaiting a meeting the prime minister promised us in office several days ago”, the Union says.
Full announcement:
During 2020, the Kosovo nurses' union organised three protests because of the severe conditions in which nurses took place.
He held three meetings with the health minister and 1 meeting with the prime minister about two weeks ago. We are still awaiting a meeting the prime minister promised us in office a few days ago.
We had many demands, such as paying for pay through the salary law, hiring 2 thousand nurses, paying off extra hours, paying off weekends, nursing law, safe work environments, but because of the serious situation with the pandemic, we chose that during 2020 it would only be the establishment of night change payments from 18 euros now to 36 euros for 12 hours of overnight work, that state budgets would cost only 2.5 million euros for a year, for all Kosovo nurses and young nurses.
Neither this minimum nor ours was ignored.
It's also about labor supplements during our pandemic, which were insulting to us, only 150 euros, but when taxed, it's about 120 euros.
Because the virus knows no position or education.
More than 2,000 nurses were infected, and eight others died. The nurses were 24 hours away from patients, even though they were underestimated and washed up as they were, unlike others.
Nurses are the ones who gave most in the pandemic, but they only got empty promises all the time.
Many countries of the world took courage and raised their salaries to health workers, such as Germany, France, and so on in respect and thanks for the hard work they are doing health workers.
It's not easy to risk your life to save the lives of others. The nurses did this, most of them volunteers.
Even the administration that passed on the public health commission, with no budget in place. There was a budget for everything, but only the nurses didn't. We will not stop until our demands are met.
I'll see you soon with our union activities.
