After this meeting, the German government's chief said companies producing vaccines already saw the doses being distributed this year, writes Anadolu, broadcast Express newspaper.
She recalled that three companies have vaccines approved by the EU, adding that even if other companies fail to obtain approval, the German government will be able to keep its promise to provide vaccines for each adult citizen by the end of the summer or third quarter of the year.
Since it will not be given to children, Merkel said Germany needs about 73 million people. Merkel announced that at the upcoming meeting with regional leaders the national vaccine plan will also be prepared.
