The crisis caused by the coronary pandemic certainly has negative consequences for German citizens' income.
For the first time since the start of the study in 2007, nominal wages fell last year, the Wiesbaden Statistics Office announced.
Including outstanding payments, gross wages averaged 0.6 percent lower than a year ago.
At the same time, consumer prices rose by 0.5 percent, so workers remained with about one percent less real income than in 2019.
