Limitations preventing the overwhelming majority of people from entering from the Czech Republic and the Austrian region of Tirol will remain in force until March 3rd, the German official confirmed.
These two regions, along with Slovakia, have been placed on the list of countries of high concern since February 14th, due to the high rate of Corleone infected.
Initially, it has been pre-priced for ten days.
Restrictions exclude those considered prime workers, including truck drivers bringing goods to the country. The European Commission said in a letter to German Ambassador to Brussels Michael Claus that the measures are unproportional and unwarranted.
“We believe that the target followed by Germany, which is public health protection during pandemic, can be achieved with less restrictive measures”, says the letter. The Czech Republic has the highest rate of coronary infection within the European Union.
