During a press conference, Castex said that stabilising the number of new cases and the vaccine campaign imply that the government can avoid establishing new isolation.
According to him, the decision to isolate the country for the third time in the pandemic has been weighed in comparison to other factors, and French lawmakers have assessed and decided it is unwarranted.
The possible priorities of a third nationwide isolation in the fight against the spread of the coronary has had to be measured in economic, social and human terms, and sometimes even health”, he said.
“The situation today does not justify such a move”, the French prime minister added, warning that if the situation deteriorates, the government will not hesitate to do what is necessary, the Daily Mail reports Report Express.
Castex said that now is not the time to ease measures that are currently in place, including closing cafes and restaurants and strict border controls, especially for those coming from countries that are part of the EU.
