The Central Election Commission (KQZ) is expected to announce the final results of the February 14th parliamentary elections early next week, where, according to preliminary results, the Vetevendosje Movement has firmly won about 48 per cent of the vote.
CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi said today that they expect the recount of 494 deployments to be completed by Friday.
“The implementation process of recounting locations is continuing according to the previous dynamic in the QNR. There are a total of 28 working tables that are under way in the recounting process. We believe it will be closed by Friday evening, and then on weekends we believe that we will be able to begin with the next process of counting conditional and votes from abroad. Their result would be to associate the results of the deployments and during the start of next week without specifying an exact day we believe that the CEC will be able to come up with the announcement of the final outcome of the” election, Elez said.
Whether there will be other options that will go on the recount, Elez said it depends on the QNR if they propose that any poll be recounted. Similarly, he said the recounting could also follow the announcement of results if there will be complaints in PZAP and the Supreme Court.
The CEC has decided yesterday on the recount of 494 deployments, where, according to Elez, 15 percent of them have so far been recorded.
The “so far has been recounted 15% or 76 seats out of 494 as the total number of them and belonging to different Kosovo municipalities. The reasons for the recounting concern wrong holding of votes in the form of 35 political subjects; mistaking of votes in the form of candidates 6 countries; candidate or candidates have more votes than political subject 370 seats; and the subject has votes, while no candidates and vice versa 83 places”, Elez said.
Elez also argued that the CEC's voting service is continuing with the assessment process of 43 thousand and 500 package revenues from the diaspora. He announced that 29 thousand and 87 envelopes of ballot papers were approved, while there are 11,000 and 840 rejected envelopes.
“According to the latest data, 25 thousand and 153 alleged ballot packages have been opened from which we have approved 29 thousand and 87 envelopes with ballot papers and 11 thousand and 840 missing envelopes. The reasons for their failure to approve are different, and as follows: 5 thousand and 78 envelopes have been sent by persons who are not registered as voters outside Kosovo; 35,000 and 836 envelopes have been sent by persons who failed to register as voters outside Kosovo during the application period, because they have not testified to legal criteria; 908 voters have submitted ballot papers from two times; a thousand and 551 envelopes sent by unidentified voters (group vote); 467 envelopes sent by voters who have attached documents to the non-intifiness of the idea<6> said.
