EU Office has written that they expect authorities to bring attackers to justice

“thoroughly concerned with the attack on researcher Visar Duriqi. Journalists should have the opportunity to work in a free and secure environment. We appeal to authorities to investigate the incident quickly and bring attackers to justice”, the EU response reported.

After the medical treatment he has accepted, investigative journalist Visar Duriqi has issued a statement at the Kosovo Police in Pristina, after the previous night he was brutally beaten by three masked people.

After the statement in the police, Duriqi has told the media that the beating has lasted about a minute and a half, while the attack has been initiated by one person initially, two more have been involved.

He said he has four broken teeth, jaws and damaged noses, as well as other injuries.

Journalist Duriqi claims the threats have been accepted since 2014, while adding that the attack may have come because of his work in the research documentary broadcast on TV and online media.
