Senior representative for the European Union's foreign and security policy, Joseph Borrell and Commissioner for Neighborhood and Enlargement Oliver Varhely, have published a declaration on holding elections in Kosovo.

In the joint statement, Borrell and Warhely express readiness to help Kosovo on the road to its European integration reforms and communicate expectations for Kosovo's new government.

Among expectations, the focus is on constructive engagement for dialogue with Serbia aimed at continuing meetings in this framework for reaching a comprehensive agreement.

“Question A Whether Joseph Borrell fears the lack of will by the government expected to be formed in Kosovo to continue the Pristina-Belgrade dialogue, spokesman Peter Stano has replied as follows:

“Senior foreign policy representative Borrell and Commissioner Varhely have clearly formulated in their statement the response to the conduct of the vote in Kosovo and our readiness to help Kosovo and the new government on the reform agenda. We have also underlined expectations when it comes to advancing European integration reforms, regional co-operation and dialogue on normalising relations with Serbia. Regarding the electoral process, we will not go beyond this statement, as the post-election phase is under way from”, EC spokesman Peter Stano said.

The European Union's electoral experts mission in Kosovo will follow post-electorial procedures and compile recommendations regarding the election process in Kosovo.
