On images separated from the BBC, Princess Latifa Al Maktoum says the commandos drugged her after she tried to escape by ship and turned her into custody.
Videos were recorded for several months on a phone that Latifas was secretly given about a year after her capture and return to Dubai. She recorded them in a bathroom because it was the only door she could lock.
I'm a hostage. This cottage is back in my prison. All windows are isolated. There are five cops outside and two inside. I can't even get out for fresh air”, it sounds like that.
Latifas' account of her capture and detention was revealed by close friend Tiina Jauhianen and several relatives who stand behind the campaign “Free Latifa”.
According to them, they managed to establish contacts with Latifan while 35-year-old was held hostage in a <x0vile” of Dubai and say they have made the difficult decision to publish messages out of concern for Latifa's security.
Dubai and the United Arab Emirates have earlier said that the princess is safe and in the care of the family.
Latifa's father, Sheik Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, is one of the world's richest heads of states. He is the ruler of Dubai and deputy chairman of the United Arab Emirates.
Latifa tried to escape in 2018, with the help of a former French military man who had paid him, but was later caught at sea by Indian coastal guard troops and returned to Dubai.
