“As Turkey, we believe that our common interests with the United States far outweigh differences in thinking,” said Erdoğan, broadcast Reuters.
Erdogan also said Turkey wanted to strengthen co-operation through “a long-term perspective on a victory basis. ”
“Turkey will continue to do its job in a way worthy of strategic connection and partnership between the two countries” He said.
Relations between the US and Turkey have been strained after former President Trump's administration imposed sanctions on Turkey in December, due to their purchase of the Russian missile defence system S-400.
