Continued voting by the diaspora for parliamentary elections, which will be held on February 14th in Kosovo, while fellow citizens who have a vote have yet two days left to send their ballots to the Central Election Commission.
And so far, the Secretariat of the Central Election Commission has accepted over 400,000 packages of paper from the diaspora.
Chief Executive Chief of the Secretariat of the Central Election Commission, Burim Ahmetaj, in a statement handed down to Telegrafi, has said they have so far accepted 40 thousand and 625 packages of balloting.
The Central Election Commission Secretariat until February 9th has accepted 40 thousand and 625 packages with ballots from abroad”, he stressed.
Speaking of voting by the diaspora, Ahmetaj added that it is not yet known which states have achieved mostly balloting.
And we actually take it just as they are sent to all stations without selection of which country they come from, but of course this process will be done at the Results Counting Center, which starts on February 14th and then begins their package assessment and selection by countries where they come from. But at this stage it's hard to do, because all the shipments that come in are sent to the infrastructure ministry facilities”, he said, among other things.
As far as the safety of these ballot papers are concerned, Ahmetaj indicated that in the areas where the votes from the diaspora are being guarded, cameras are located and Kosovo Police are also located.
The “Object is provided, within the space where remittances are kept on the outside are provided with four security cameras inside, cameras are also outside. Police also make security of the facility, and according to protocol, taped doors are changed as soon as the door is opened, because of security”, he added.
Ahmetaj eventually clarified that the ballots will be transferred to the Results Counting Centre on February 14th, when the process of ballot assessment begins.
Otherwise, the country's final voter list for early elections for the Kosovo Assembly, which will be held on February 14th, contains 1 million 794 thousand and 862 voters' names. So in these elections there are 143 thousand and 6 voters less than in the October 6, 2019 elections.
Out of this list, 122 thousand and 421 voters who own only ID documents issued by UNMIK have been removed, as well as the removal of 11 thousand and 86 who have confirmed that they have left retirement schemes due to death.
