GREECE-Medea Storm, which has covered all over Greece for the last 24 hours, has created many problems in some areas of the country.
According to civil protection, two people have lost their lives. The victims are a 56-year-old who was found dead at his stage in Crete, as well as an 80-year-old man who was found dead in his apartment in Evia.
It was fortunate that there were no victims from the fall of a tree, just 50m from the parliament building in Athens' Sindagma Square, while problems have been having power supply and drinking water on the outskirts of Athens.
The snowstorm is expected to last for several hours yet, to leave the relay to freezing temperatures in the hours ahead.
Earlier, the country's prime minister, Kyriakos Mitsotakis, urged residents in the affected areas to avoid unnecessary movements.
Civil protection has made emergency teams available, while all of the country's municipalities have opened heating halls for no shelters and migrants living in the open sky. /tch
