The election campaign for extraordinary parliamentary elections began on 3 February, which has continued until 12 February, respectively, with a ten-day duration.

A total of 28 political subjects -- 21 political parties, 2 coalitions and 5 civic initiatives -- participate in these early parliamentary elections. All parties compete for 120 seats in parliament.

The elections for Kosovo's parliament are held throughout the country's territory, including northern Kosovo. Election processes both local and general have usually been assisted in this part since 2013. But this time it is the first time that elections in the entire territory of the country are organised only by the CEC.

Due to the coronary pandemic, for the first time the European Union will not send its election monitoring team. However, embassy staff and ambassadors themselves have pledged to be observers of the election process, along with thousands of non-governmental Kosovo organisations.

Laura Pula of the State Prosecutor, has suggested that the institution in which she acts is prepared for the election process. She has said that, along with all prosecutors and support staff, they have finalised all operational procedures.

“We have assigned 88 prosecutors, along with 40 officials from the prosecutorial system, who will operate together with the Kosovo Police”, she has stated.

fates Dramaku from the Kosovo Judiciary Council has said 30 mayoral judges have been appointed for election day.

Kosovo's Judicial Council has appointed 30 caretaker judges to respond to demands by the state prosecutor”, Dremak stressed.

Early elections for the Kosovo Assembly will be held on February 14th, respectively.
