The country risks “being” in crisis because of the president, parties are ready for co-operation

The country could sink into an institutional crisis in the absence of a consensual president, all because of the fact that political parties are not ready for co-operation, political analysts in the country estimate. But Life Krasniqi from the Kosovo Democratic Institute has said in an interview for Online Economy that political parties should make the quorum for Vjosa Osmani to be elected president of the country.
The political parties should actually stay in the Assembly and do the quorum in order to solve all institutions. Our country does not have the luxury of going to new elections, but we were already in a preliminary election just a year ago. Kosovo needs stability, and citizens need a continuation of”.
“Couldn't because of political disagreements pay the cost to citizens, and we're actually seeing that because of political incompatibilities, the costs are paying citizens. So I would say that it is more of our demand or expectations for political parties to make the quorum to solve institutions and to be able to move forward with the necessary reforms that Kosovo so much needs, both in the external and internal aspect of”, it is expressed.
But according to Krasniqi, Kosovo political parties are reluctant to make it up to each other, so there is the possibility of having an institutional crisis which could lead the country to new elections.
The first “is that we have to form the Parliament, the certificate of results has not yet occurred, after the constitution is formed by the Government. We have yet to see how many votes the first party has won and how many will go, what mathematicians will have, the coalitions before forming the government, or will be able to defeat Vetevendosje and Vjosa List only form Government, so they have 61 votes, or they have to have a coalition with other parties, and then it's the issue of President”.
“If there is no agreement between political parties to have a two-thirds quorum in the Assembly then surely we will have an institutional crisis which can lead us to new elections. There is the possibility that political parties have yet to hesitate to make it up to each other, but what we have left is that we have to say that political parties have to make quorums. We have parties that have consistently said they are institutionalists and see the interest of the state and the citizens then it is time for political parties to have a dance between them. The president is elected and the country will not go to parliamentary elections”.
Even Movement for the Union Chairman Valon Murati has said it is good for political parties to agree on the election of Vjosa Osmani president.
We've had this time a clear victory of a political subject, and I think that political subject has to assume responsibility for governance, this time for the president. Ms. Osmani as a candidate has proposed the Vetevendosje Movement on what political parties will do I don't know, but I believe they will be young because it's not good for the country to go to the polls again because I have the impression that there is no room for any compromise for a coalition government, or for another president”.
I think Mrs. Osmani will be president and I believe that this is good for Kosovo, since we will have no reasoning even from the LVV that we had problems with the functioning of the coalition. Let him take power, let him govern Kosovo and see how other processes --” will develop, he has indicated.
Murati also said that institutions should be formed for the country's benefit so that the country will not be elected again.
Because of the clear result of the citizens' will for change, then other parties should have this clear message and have the winner open the door. Don't do as the winner did because I think using the same methods, the tactics he's had to come up here won't work at other parties”.
So they've turned on the LVV but they can't light on other parties. There are other circumstances, and I think for the sake of Kosovo there should be no institutional instability, let's not go back to the elections”.
While software manager in Democracy Plus, Albert Krasniqi has said it is time for political parties to elect a consequential president.
“All political parties should show constructive in terms of electing the president. I consider this to be a very convenient moment to have a consequential president, who is not imposed by a political subject”.
The “is in the interest of the Vetevendosje Movement to form the government as soon as possible and thus implement its Government programme and other opposition parties that we're assuming will remain the right moment for elections, so I believe all sides would have to sit down and have a president who would all represent so there wouldn't be a president coming only from a political subject”.
According to Krasniqi, however, the president would have to be the proposal coming from the opposition because that could thus balance power.
I also consider that it would be healthier for democracy if the president wanted the proposal coming from the opposition because we could thus balance power”.
A prime minister who has control of both the Parliament Speaker and the parliamentary majority, but also the president could not have good balance of powers. So if the president were to be from an opposition proposal then even balance would be better”, Krasniqi has concluded for EO.
