Ten soldiers who took cocaine and cannabis to an illegal party because of the pandemic have been expelled forever from the British Army.
Nine members of the 3rd Battalion, Artillery “Royal Horse”, a formation dating back to 1793, two of whom had taken cocaine at one evening in the Albermarle barracks near Newcastle on January 15th. One had taken cannabis.
With the drug testing labs closed, they were sent by their commanding officer 650 miles away to the “Trenchard Lines” to Upavon in Wiltshire, where everyone failed in antidrug tests.
