At least 38 people have died so far because of the severe winter conditions that have swept the US for nearly a week.
The US National Meteorological Service announced that snow and frost weather, which has paralysed life in the country's central and southern states, today and tomorrow will be effective in the northeast region across the Atlantic Coast.
Snowfall is expected, reportedly, to continue in a vast region from Washington to Boston, while snowfall in New York can reach up to 20 inches [20 cm], reports the Ora News.
At least 38 people have been reported dead so far from Oregon in northwest Texas to the south because of cold weather and frost.
Deaths have been caused by road traffic accidents, carbon monoxide poisoning of households during efforts to heat up their vehicles after power cuts and stoves.
