The CEC has reacted to Bekim Jashar's statements, which earlier said there has been a meeting with school directors in the municipality it is leading, of which it has demanded that classroom cameras be active just like any other day.
However, Jashari complained that the CEC did not approve of that.
And the Central Election Commission on this issue has issued a response to the media.
It says that schools that turn into the polling centre are in the power of the CEC, rather than someone else.
“also, all school objects that turn into the Voting Centre are managed and monitored by the CEC. They are neither managed nor supervised by their municipalities and mayors”, the CEC communiqué says.
Full response by the Central Election Commission:
The Central Election Commission finds it necessary to announce and clarify the citizens of the Republic of Kosovo regarding the management of the polling and decision-making centres, following the uncertainties created in the opinion.
On election day, all schools that turn into the Voting Centre are in the power of the Central Election Commission.
Also, all school objects that are turned into the Voting Centre are managed and monitored by the CEC. They are neither managed nor supervised by their municipalities and mayors.
All the rules for all polling centres throughout the Republic of Kosovo are unphomores, and apply equally to all, in all municipalities. These rules have been such in the past election processes and have undergone no changes.
