Macron has also mentioned dialogue with Kosovo to Vuciqi, providing support for reaching a comprehensive agreement, but not to mention mutual recognition.
“As we discussed in Paris, I remain determined to support the dialogue between Belgrade and Pristina with the support of European mediation, with the aim of concluding a comprehensive and final agreement that will contribute to the stability of the entire region”, Macron writes in his message of congratulations.
The French president also recalled his last meeting with Vucinqi.
I was very happy when we exchanged thoughts in Paris on February 1st, reaffirming the agreement and the shared will to further deepen our bilateral relations”, the Macron message says. “The realisation of the Belgrade subway project, as a symbol of our co-operation, will enable, I am convinced, attracting other French investments.
On behalf of the US government, even US Secretary of State Antony Blinken has commended Serbian citizens for the day of state, while repeating to Serbia the request of US President Joe Biden for mutual recognition with Kosovo.
