BioNTech laboratory announced today the beginning of its vaccine production against the Pfizer-designed Coronavirus at a new plant in Marburg (Germany), intended to increase litrims.
“We started the first stage of production vaccines at our Marburg plant, in Hesse”, the German laboratory in a communique announced.
This plant will be specially produced ARNm, the active component of this vaccine against COVID-19” points out the communique, adding that a single tear of ARNm, in the current amount, is enough to produce eight million doses of vaccine.
After the initial production of ARNm, the latter clears and focuses, then transfers to production partners who package and sterilize it.
However, this product must still receive the green light from the European Drug Agency (EMA), in February and March, before it is distributed, BioNTech points out.
The first “Vax produced in the centre of Marburg will be transported in early April”, the laboratory predicts.
Currently, the European customers' main vaccine production plant is located in Pours, Belgium.
BioNTech predicts to produce up to 250 million doses of BNT162b2 during the first quarter of 2021.
