Democratic Biden said he does not want to build new, conflict-based relations.
Biden claimed he had not talked to Chinese President Xi Jinping since his inauguration on January 20th, but recalled that he and the Chinese leader had met several times, when both were vice-presidents of their countries.
“I know him well,” told Beden to the CBS network, adding that when they speak, they will have many topics to talk about, the AP reports.
Since taking office, Biden has talked to leaders of Canada, Mexico, Great Britain, France, Germany, Japan, South Korea, Australia and NATO Secretary General.
He also had a working meeting with Russian President Vladimir Putin.
