Following concerns raised by the Egyptian Liberal Party (PLE) on allegations regarding the orchestration of votes from the political subject “Serbian List” in co-operation with the political subject “Romania Initiative”, as well as on the basis of numerous reactions accepted by the Egyptian community, Veton Berisha from PLE has considered the silence of competent state institutions, representatives of major political subjects, international organisations, foreign embassies and a part of civil society to be unfair.
According to him, do not take into account concerns about the violent influence of voters' will in the concrete case of Political Subject “Romania Initiative” under the correction of the Serbian “List” results negatively and directly in the democratic success of the elections, and could seriously damage the entire election process in Kosovo.
“Kosovo has been an example of organising and conducting elections at all levels in Kosovo and making continued efforts at achieving goals for European integration, such direct effects on the will of voters from political subject “Romania Initiative” through Serbian “List” is the worst example and the obstacle to achieving these key targets, he said.
PLE called on all local and international mechanisms that, under the field of their activity, urgently react in order to establish right the manifestation of the free will of voters, as well as avoid possible damage to the election process itself in general.
“PLE as a serious parliamentary party, now representing the Egyptian community for eight years, asks the Central Election Commission to cancel votes in all Serb settlements in which the Roma community does not live. ”
PLE also called on the citizens of the Egyptian community in Kosovo and abroad to be calm and cautious and not to succumb to provocations of individuals or specific groups.
