Arrested by Officer Suspected of Mistreatment During Official Task

The IPK was announced on February 1st through a complaint claiming that a policeman had overstepped police authorization during the duty exercise.

Kosovo Police Inspectorate, respectively, had accepted a complaint by a citizen who claimed to exceed police authorisation during the use of force by several police officials in Lipjan.

IPK investigators after accepting citizenship complaint, as well as case paperwork, have undertaken a host of investigative actions.

Following some investigative actions in consultation with the competent prosecution, IPK investigators have arrested today a police official (worker at Lipjan Police Station) who was involved in the incident.

His arrest was made on suspicion that the same was committed by <x0 malpractice during the exercise of the official task”, while the same prosecutor's decision has been imposed on the detention measure for 48 hours and suspended from office.

IPK investigators are expected to take other investigative actions in ongoing consultation with the prosecutor responsible to clarify the circumstances of this incident.
