“In the direction of President Beden, US military forces carried out air strikes against infrastructure used by Iranian-backed militant groups in eastern Syria”, Pentagon spokesman John Kirby announced in a statement, Klan Kosova reported.
“These attacks were authorised in response to recent attacks against American and coalition personnel in Iraq, as well as continued threats to this personnel”, he said.
According to the Pentagon, American warplanes dropped seven precise bombs hitting seven targets, including a passage used by armed groups to shift weapons across the border.
Kirby said the attacks destroyed many objects at a border checkpoint used by a number of Iranian-backed militant groups, including Kataıb Hezbollah (KH) and Kataíb Sayid al-Shuhada (KSS).
