The Association of Kosovo Journalists AGK, with deep concern, has accepted news of the physical attack towards journalist Visar Duriqi.
The media journalist has claimed to have received medical treatment at the University Clinical Centre of Kosovo (QKUK), as the result of physical assault has broken teeth and noses.
Immediately after receiving the information, police have appeared at the scene, and on the basis of the previous information, there are suspected that three masked persons have hit the victim at the entrance of his apartment by causing bodily injuries. The victim has been sent to KKUK, for the necessary medical treatment and was later released from there”, the police statement said.
The Kosovo Journalists' Association seeks from justice bodies that as soon as they investigate the motives of the attack and clear the case, which basically undermines freedom of expression and media.
The AGK will announce all national and international acts regarding this case, and we once appeal to all our journalists to report threats and attacks in their direction.
Any assault on journalists is an attack on free speech and democracy in the country.
