88 prosecutors to be engaged on Election Day

Chief State Prosecutor Aleksander Lumezi has kept the college with all the chief prosecutor's prosecutors, Chief Prosecutor of the Special Prosecutor, Prosecutor's Prosecutor for Appeals, as well as chief prosecutor of the Prosecutorial Council, where he has demanded maximum commitment from all prosecutors in the course of the election process.
In order to preserve the integrity of this process, the chief state prosecutor has appointed 88 prosecutors who will be committed to the day of elections at the country level, in order to ensure a fair and legal process, with the C possibly warning that all measures will be undertaken actively and without delay against those who are at odds with the Penal Code's provisions, concerning criminal acts against the right to vote and all other forms of crime associated with the electoral process.
“Plus, the essential part of this meeting was the presentation of the 2021 State Prosecutor's Work Plan, where the overall and priority objectives were specifically presented, with the aim of advancing the work of the State Prosecutor's Office. In this context, Chief Prosecutor Lumezi has stressed the priority treatment of a group of criminal acts, apart from fighting corruption, organised crime, economic crimes, war crimes, cyber crimes, domestic violence, child and gender violence, and voting-insistance cases. Also, the matter of particular interest at this meeting was the application of the law on expanded competencies for the seizure of property acquired by criminal acts, where greater and pro-active commitment of chief prosecutor and prosecutors has been sought to track and identify property allegedly acquired by criminal acts. In this regard, State Chief Prosecutor Aleksander Lumezi has also called on chief prosecutors to implement mandatory guidelines in order to promote efficiency in the fight against corruption, economic crimes, organised crime and other crimes, while marking progress in increasing the degree of sequentification in the function of final seizure of assets won by criminal work”, a communique is said.
Also, the chief state prosecutor, has asked all chief prosecutors to advance accountability and professionalism of the prosecutor's work they run, to implement the new regulation of the prosecutor's performance assessment, and to increase transparency by communicating and co-operating with the media and civil society in order to empower public confidence in the State Prosecutor's institution.
