Authorities in France seized the license of an 88-year-old, while his car was stopped from circulation after being caught by radar at 191 km/h.
The Gendarmerie of the Bas Rhin region, east of the country, said the event took place in Bischoffsheim, where the elderly driver, after the police ban, has said he was rushing to arrive in time for the designated inoculation guarantee.
The “will be late on schedule that I have set to vaccinate”, 88-year-old reportedly said.
Despite evidence that the driver was really going to vaccinate, however, police have seized the driver's license and stopped the car from circulation.
In France's inoculation campaign, people over 75 have priority.
