Arnisa Osmani, is a breast cancer survivor. On the world's cancer day, she has told of her craving for life, which, she says, has helped her to win the battle with the disease.
The easiest thing in life is surrender. The person who understands that he has been affected with cancer must fight, be positive, and have will in life. That applies to all people who have already been diagnosed with cancer. Love life the way I loved it and love it. Battle is hard. But we must fight to win the battle, Osman said.
Arben Bislimi, oncologist at the same time head of the Kosovo Oncologists' association, said one third of the cancer disease could be prevented if revealed in time. While adding that cancer is considered the second deadly disease worldwide.
In the world about 10 million people a year die from malignant diseases, being the second deadly disease. But since at least one-third of cancer can be prevented through early detection, avoiding risk factors, and through identifying eventual causes then always the reasons for action exist, Bislim said.
The treatment of malignant diseases is done in three links, surgically, through medical oncological treatment and radiation treatment. All three forms also take place in Kosovo, health professionals said.
In Kosovo in 2019 there were 1567 new cancer cases, until 2020 was closed to 1370 new cases, which shows there has been a slight decline in diagnosed cases.
