“Referring to your request, we inform you that the Constitutional Court in Pristina has continued the detention measure K. S. Defendant K. S. The detention measure has been continued since January 24th, 2021, through March 23rd, 2021”, Gashi has said of Telegrafi.
Days earlier, the court has continued custody of other suspects in the theft of millions from the State Treasury, Labinot Gruda. Gruda has continued her detention until 17 March 2021.
The theft of 2.1m euros from the State Treasury took place in October 2020, where through an extraordinary news conference, the incumbent Finance Minister, Hykmete Bajrami, announced the opinion of an unusual theft, it disclosed that “out of the State Treasury was” more than 2m euros.
Without providing much detail, the minister indicated it was about four suspicious transactions from the Treasury, worth about 2.1m euros that had been transferred to an Economic Operator.
On the other hand, the Kosovo Special Prosecutor has not yet provided additional details about what happened to the investigation process in the case.
