There are 102,100 citizens who were registered and verified in the CEC to vote from abroad in contrast to the 2019 elections, where there were 35,087 registered, but that in Kosovo within the deadline reached 20,200 votes.
CEC spokesman Valmir Elezi, has shown the number of applications and how this process has turned out.
In this election process, we have a record number of citizens who are registered successfully from abroad to vote, unlike before. The number of those who have managed to register as voters abroad is 102,100 and have met the judicial skills criteria”.
In total, the number of applications from abroad has been 130, 168, but only 102,100 have met the legal criteria, according to Elez.
So they've been rejected somewhere 28,068 apps for reasons that can be divided into two groups: 15,933 have been refused because they sent only the registration application form, while 11, 164 applicants have been rejected because they haven't witnessed the identity or legal skill”.
“in the 2019 elections have applied 40, 313 people and, after verification, 35,087, while 20,200 people have submitted the package by mail. In this election let's see what the number of those who will send their package of balloting via post-mail” will be, Elezi has said about Klan Kosovo.
Voting for citizens abroad has started on February 2nd and will end on 12th, under the law in effect.
The law imposes that ballotes be accepted by the CEC 24 hours before Election Day.
For the numerous complaints that came from exiles that they were denied the right to vote because the CEC did not call them on the phone to verify, Elez has said that all those who haven't responded to the phone or have failed to get a call have been registered in order not to be denied the right to vote.
