In his address, at the “Open Balkans” meeting, North Macedonia Prime Minister Zoran Zaev has stressed that this initiative is the proper way for EU integration. In his message, he said countries should no longer remain hostage to the troubled past in the Balkans.
In the presence of Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama and Serbian President Aleksandar Vuciq, Zaev confirmed that this would be his last direct participation due to developments in the Macedonian government.
It's really an honor and a pleasure to be here today, thank you for hosting us, Eddie, at every meeting we have to talk about new things, new initiatives. Let me express my satisfaction over the last steps that have been taken, congratulations on our teams that have worked hard over the past few months. We have successes and results to show. It's not easy in the EU, but it's not even in the Balkans, but we have obvious steps to show, and this will be my last share in this important mission that we are implementing. Since the beginning of the initiative, we have highlighted the open Balkan initiative that is the authentic process Macedonia, Serbia, but open to all countries in the region, we have shown that a strong political will can become a rapid functioning of all countries. We have shown these capacities to EU countries.
This process could be banned in Brussels, but Europeanisation is not. Our European and European values have no reason to wait, the open Balkans for me have had an added value this is the friendship we've built on 3, so I want to deliver a message to all: to save and develop this initiative, the Open Balkans. We have had divisions of strife and distrust in the past, but the open Balkans is the way to move forward, the instrument of how we will leave the past to go towards a common future in Be, is to the benefit of our citizens. With these agreements, we will have success. The Open Balkans is the way to move forward, the right path to the EU, is the instrument to leave our past troubled, past and move towards the EU”, he said.
Zaev also had a message for all who will come next to the leadership positions of the “Open Balkan” saying this initiative should be saved as a route towards the common future, writes the abcné, broadcast Klankosova.tv.
“To connect our youth and our countries in the field of sports to co-operation studies, tourism is tourism that can make us have a better offer for the rest of the world, but also for the vineyards, to have a fair here in the Western Balkans to attract all major Western Balkanries, to use the budget of our three countries to support joint initiatives. I want to mention that with me we have the next prime minister, we have the deputy ministers, supporters of this initiative. This initiative, I believe, will follow in the future and will be recognised by all. I'm grateful that many countries have recognised this initiative, we will continue to work even harder”, Zaev added.
