Zaev: Agreement with Alternative, for the sake of the state

The prime minister in the resignation of northern Macedonia, Zoran Zaev, and the chairman of the Afrem Gashi Alternative signed the agreement for co-governance.

Zaev praised the agreement as important to the state and citizens.

“We joined about the common determination that at these most important moments is the functioning of institutions with full capacity and responsible company before citizens”, Zaev said.

Asked whether Alternative Secretary Bekim Sali is acceptable to the health minister, Zaev said it is acceptable, but that they should also talk to coalition partners.

Alternative Chairman Africa Gashi said the Government is entering to help the state get out of the crisis, while he said the Alternative has never attacked Government with grave words.

And neither do I as the chairman of the Alternative, but even the highest party explorers, you can never find any official communiqué where we have called a government in grave words. We've had our remarks, I don't think the government we enter is perfect, otherwise it wouldn't need to be us here. I don't even think that with our entry everything will be milk and honey. It is so easy to criticize, criticism is the easiest thing to do. The hardest job is to break your sleeves and solve problems”, Gashi said.

With the agreement reached by Zaev and Gashi, the alternative will receive the Ministry of Health, the Ministry of Information Society and a ministry without portfolio. The alternative will also meet three deputy ministers, the Culture, Education and a deputy minister for whom it is still negotiating, while there will be about 25 other positions in the third island, including the MEPSO Directorate.

This is not the first time the Alternative becomes part of the Zaev Government. Africa Gashi entered Zaev's cabinet at the time the Alliance for Albanians had abandoned Government. /AlsatM
