The state of Texas has resumed its work on building a wall border with Mexico to prevent the recent influx of immigrants from different Latin American countries.
The news was delivered by the governor of this state, Greg Abbott, who defended his act by saying that he is doing a job that the federal government should have done.
“Biden allows the opening of borders and refuses to implement the laws approved by Congress to secure borders”, he added, which in recent months had assured that it would continue the work launched by Trump.
More than 500km of border wall were built under the Trump administration, which included the replacement of hundreds of miles of existing siege and the construction of 100km of new steel barriers.
But Biden, had pledged not to build any centimeters, this commitment to Trump and signed an executive order that immediately stopped all construction when he took office on January 20th.
Building the wall was one of the main promises of Trump's campaign during the 2016 elections. With its construction, the former head of the White House claimed to fight and curb the trafficking of drugs and human beings in the United States. To use Pentagon funds, Trump announced the state of emergency at the border with Mexico.
