The latest meeting of the Open Balkans Initiative was held in Belgrade, where, above all, it was discussed facilitating customs procedures, so that the <x0-productions will not be destroyed by waiting several days at the” border.
The entire focus has been on people, companies, farmers, workers, academics, students who are and real beneficiaries of the Open Balkans. Products cannot stay on the border for days, this increases the cost in a staggering way, while negatively affecting products. You can't go to the border on Friday and wait until Monday to pass the milk when it's a yogurt. Or to wait three weeks to confirm from agencies in other countries to get the product. The results will be presented in Tirana, at the next summit in December, and will be benefits for the six countries in the region, not three. By January, a calming begins at the border, the passage of goods will be very easy, and this will affect economic growth”, Prime Minister Rama said on November 4th.
Meanwhile, today, former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has warned a protest before the prime minister, as the Serbian president's arrival is a threat to our country's interests. According to him, the Open Balkans “” is a Russian Serb project and Rama has supported Vucic on the matter with Kosovo, as “ky project has a goal, partitioning Kosovo”.
Consequently, the “Open Balkan” agenda, which will be held this Monday and Tuesday, will be adjusted for no incidents with protesters to be led by Sali Berisha. Unlike past meetings, for security reasons, leaders of the three countries will not take a walk in the city as has happened in Belgrade, Skopje,
Five agreements will be discussed and approved at this meeting:
1-A common and free labour market between Albania, Serbia and Northern Macedonia.
2nd Establishing a joint electronic connection scheme for citizens in the Western Balkans.
3- Intergovernmental Agreement between Albania, Serbia and Northern Macedonia for co-operation in the field of veterinarianism, food security that wins in the Western Balkans.
4-Agreement Albania-Serbia for mutual recognition of the economic operator for security (AEOS).
5-Agreement Albania-North Macedonia for mutual recognition of the economic operator for security (AEOS).
Keeping the Regional Forum for Agriculture and Regional Co-operation is also planned.
Conclusions of this Balkan Open meeting will be made public by Prime Minister Edi Rama, North Macedonian Prime Minister Zoran Zaev and Serbian President Aleksandar Vucic around 1300 Tuesday.
Albanian Prime Minister Edi Rama, Serbia's president, Aleksandar Vucic and Northern Macedonia Prime Minister Zoran Zaev, last July 29th signed a joint declaration based on four major freedoms of co-operation in the Western world -- freedom of movement of goods, capital, people and services.
Meanwhile, Kosovo, Montenegro and Bosnia and Herzegovina have refused to be part of this initiative, even after calls for co-operation.
