But von der Leyen said she is convinced that the EU has “force” and <x2mnet” to overcome the disease, with over 66 per cent of the EU population now fully vaccinated, Euronews writes.
“Like many of you, I am sad that once again these Christmas will be darkened by the pandemic,” she said.
The new version was first identified by South African scholars and assigned a <x0vanian concern” at the end of November. As it now seems to spread much faster than previous versions of COVID-19.
The European Centre for Disease Prevention and Control warned that only vaccine would not prevent Omitron's spread.
