Dardan Molliqaj has written about the thought the Venice Commission gave Members of the Prosecutorial Council be elected by a simple majority of MPs.
According to the Commission, this proposal increases the risk of unnecessary political influence on the Prosecutorial Council.
In this regard, Moliqaj says the Venice Commission confirmed the authoritarian tendency of the Kurtiʹ government.
He writes:
Attention! Venice Commission confirmed authoritarian tendency
It has been three years since we stopped repeating the impending danger of democracy by the Kurti Government.
We've been warning on each TV show for a month on a bill for the Prosecutorial Council. The same remarks come today from the Venice Commission: “reform should not lead to KKP submission to the ruling majority”, Venice's remarks said. The commission has opposed that KPK members be elected by a simple majority of MPs, as it has rejected the majority coming from the Parliament. “This proposal increases the risk of unnecessary political influence on the KKP, says the Commission's next caution.
If previous powers were secretly and indirectly influenced through financial or other favors, the law in question is nothing less than direct, formal and political control of the prosecution. This is unacceptable because it's dangerous. Now that the Venice Commission is saying it, maybe they don't tell us your “you have your personal”. Even if personal, more dangerous and urgent are the actions of the government than the discussion of our motives.
