In an interview for a Russian television, Lukashenko said he was willing to accept Russian nuclear weapons within his country's territory.

I will never support the nationalist hysteria in Ukraine. I'll do anything to make Ukraine ours. Ukraine is ours, the people there are ours. It is, not emotional talk, but firm faith. So if, God forbid, we will face aggression on the part of Ukraine, we will interact with Russia as closely as possible, legally, economic and politically”, Lukashenko said.

The Belarus leader has been accused by the West of using the <x0m” refugees gathered on the border between his country and Poland.

Tensions in the area have been at the highest possible level since the Cold War. Russia has deployed numerous troops at the border with Ukraine, officially for routine military exercises. But Ukraine and some Western intelligence agencies claim the country's invasion is on Putin's plans.
