Two SPS witnesses to be invited back to the Haradinaj Gucat trial

The trial of former heads of the KLA War Veterans Organisation has ended for this week.

The Specialised Chambers in The Hague has been heard by defence witness Cele Gashi, a member of the board of directors at OVL- KLA. He has confessed the event of September 7, 2020, when documents were obtained from an unknown person whose publication said OVL- The KLA has done it to show Serbia's co-operation with the Special Court.

While answering the prosecution's questions, Gashi has said he saw some of the documents that had reached OVL and many of them contained the names of Serbs.

The “not to be violated, but we wanted to bring to light the co-operation of Serbia's Specialised Chambers and regime, co-operation between the Specialised Chambers of Kosovo and Serbia... You're mined because you got material from Serbia, you got nothing to talk about here, you brought the material to us, I didn't bring it there”, Gashi said.

The Court has announced that it has accepted the defense request to be called for the second time two witnesses of the Specialised Prosecutor's Office and questioned by Gucatt's lawyer, Jonathan Elystan Rees.

The court's “approves Mr. Gucatt's defense request to call these witnesses back. The court has ruled on these reasons, the delay in reading material has to do with the fact that the prosecution is late defense and has asked the court not to issue”, the chairman of the court, Carles Smith, said.

The court has instructed the defense against your questions at private hearings. According to attorney Rees, the defence has not been given an opportunity to properly raise the claim of delay in committing crime.

While the SPS have estimated there is no basis for calling witnesses back.

The trial against former OVL leaders- The KLA will continue on 15 December at Kosovo's Specialised Chambers in The Hague.

Nasim Haradinaj's Hysni Gucati were arrested on 25 September 2020, since they are also staying in custody at The Hague.

The flow of documents from the Special, which by a still unknown person have been sent to O'O offices VL- The KLA, and publicisation of this event by the organisation's leaders, is the reason Haradinaj's Gucati is being tried.

Over them are charges of criminal acts against administration of justice, namely obstructing official persons in performing official duties, intimidation of witnesses, revenge and violations of the secret of the procedure.
