MP PDK, Xhavit Haliti, says about Blicette that the issue of association is a formidable obstacle. But, according to him, Kosovo must fall to internal ljudy, so that there is no dilemma as to what can be signed and what cannot be signed.
This issue is not only the government's problem, but it is a problem for the Constitutional Court's decision regarding the signing of the association agreement, and that is the biggest obstacle for anyone negotiating it. However, I think we have to deal with what can be accepted in negotiations and what not”, he said.
According to him, “first requires an internal agreement between political structures, namely Kosovo institutions, so that there is no dilemma about what can be signed and what can not, the fact that anyone who signed such an agreement today, whenever he has a lost career, because in the circumstances that politics in Kosovo can become very easy to call him a traitor, that you sold him to be”
“On the other hand we have a huge problem which we have caused ourselves, not handling the problem in advance at the Constitutional Court. It's signed something that has disputed the Constitutional Court, we have a question of EU and US public statements to recognise and implement this agreement, and that's the Aquill, it's a huge problem that this government, whether it comes after it”, says Halit.
However, the MP says the PDK supports dialogue. According to him, the situation should be strained in the region and work for joint EU integration.
“We support the dialogue because we think dialogue should be made, the situation in the region, we must all work for common EU integration, so an acceptable formula must be found for the parties for dialogue to be successful”, he says.
European diplomacy chief Josep Borrell, on December 7th, has said the Association of Serb majority municipalities must be established.
At a joint media conference in Brussels, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti said the association only suits Belgrade, but not Serbian citizens in Kosovo. He added that Kosovo's Constitutional Court has praised the Association Agreement as an unconstitutional agreement. However, Borrell insisted that this was one of the agreements reached in Brussels between Kosovo and Serbia and as such should be respected. “I do not agree that the Constitutional Court (of Kosovo) established obstacles in implementing this agreement. But this (agreement) was reached between representatives of the two governments and within dialogue. So, I'm sorry, but we need to ask for implementation of this” agreement, Borrell said.
On the other hand, Kosovo Prime Minister Albin Kurti said there are 33 agreements that have been reached in Brussels, but Belgrade insists on implementing only one, that of association.
“When the Constitutional Court declared this agreement unconstitutional, no Serb in Kosovo has protested. So we should have dialogue that benefits citizens, not politicians”, Kurti said.
