Scientists discover the trigger for blood clotting after taking the AstraZeneca

The team in Cardiff and the US has shown in detailed detail how a protein in the blood is drawn by a key component of the vaccine.
They feel that this initiates a chain reaction involving the immune system, which can peak in dangerous clots.
The vaccine is thought to have saved about a million lives from COVID-19, the BBC writes.
However, concerns about the rare clotting of blood also affected the use of this vaccine worldwide.
Scientists began searching to find out what was happening and if it could be prevented. Cardiff's team was granted emergency government funds to find these answers.
Even scientists of AstraZeneca itself joined the research project after previous results were published by the team.
An AstraZeneca spokeswoman stressed that clots were more likely to occur because of an infection from COVID-19 than by vaccine and that it has not been fully discovered why clots are occurring.
